When we formed Solar First, we wanted to do things a bit differently.

A Bit About ME - Ross

Age 57, married with 3 teenage children and 2 Labrador dogs, living in Rutland.

I guess I’m an early adopter in renewable energy having installed solar panels at home in 2010 and started driving an electric car from 2017. So renewable energy been a passion of mine for the last 15 years and during that time I’ve not only seen for myself how renewable energy fits it and benefits your lifestyle and the environment, but also explained these benefits to many others interested in the technology. Career wise, during this time I ran a design and print agency and have been a director in a family business.

In 2023 I decided I wanted to help others who want to transition away from fossil fuels and towards net zero, so a decision was made to start a company in the renewables industry.

So in 2023 Solar First was formed. We started by simply installing car chargers and have since grown into installing solar panels and batteries (domestically and commercially) as well as ASHP’s. I still love explaining how these technologies work and work well with each other and will only advise customers to consider going ahead if I think it’s right for them.

With advisors and installers now based in Kent and County Durham, our services now cover most of the UK.
